Ayers Variety and Hardware in Westover was my favorite place in the 1950’s. I recently visited there and was transported back to a time when personal service was Mr. Ayers greeting me and helping me pick out seeds for my garden or a birdhouse kit for a cub scout project.

Mr. Ayers owned the store from 1947 until he died in 1977. Since then the Kaplan family has kept the same wonderful atmosphere. The Kaplan family and their employees treat you like part of their family when you stop in with your home maintenance needs. They are ready to help you with your gardening and hardware and painting questions. They also have the arts and crafts supplies you or your kids may need for a special project.

If you live in the Westover area, you already know what a marvelous place Ayers Variety and Hardware is. If not…….take a drive out Washington Blvd and find out what you’re missing…they are located in the Westover shopping center in 5800 block of North Washington Blvd.
